Meeting the Complex Needs of Modern Projects

We know that, for Environmental Consulting and Engineering businesses, flexibility and control are essential. EVX Software’s mission is to empower firms with tools tailored to their unique project needs, helping reduce time spent on administrative tasks while enhancing project clarity. With the release of version 3.11.3, EVX Software introduces several new features and improvements, aimed at giving you more options for complex billing, better integration capabilities, and greater oversight. This article takes a closer look at what these updates mean for your projects and how they can bring added value to your workflow.

New

Mixed Engagement Models: Bringing Flexibility to Billing

Environmental consulting projects often require diverse billing structures to accommodate different phases and task types within a single contract. With the new Mixed Engagement Model, you can now combine Fixed Fee and Time & Materials billing within a single project. This means you can assign fixed costs to predictable phases and use time-based billing for more dynamic stages.

This dual billing approach allows for a more accurate reflection of project scope, ensures smoother client communications, and provides greater accuracy in invoicing and revenue tracking. It’s designed to simplify financial processes for complex projects, giving project managers and accounting teams a clear, unified billing structure that reflects real-world project demands.

New

Seamless Integration with SAGE 50 Accounting

Keeping track of financial data across platforms is a burden. That’s why EVX Software now offers its first integration with SAGE, starting with SAGE 50. Through this connection, you can import EVX-generated invoices directly to SAGE, ensuring consistency without redundant data entry.

This initial phase of integration automates invoicing workflows, saving time and reducing errors, creating a more cohesive financial picture. Our team is actively working to expand SAGE integration to other features, including expenses and payments, supporting environmental and engineering consulting firms in fully connecting project management with general ledger accounting tools.

Improvement

Enhanced Email Logging for Greater Control

Email remains a crucial form of communication within project workflows. With version 3.11.3, EVX Software’s email classification now includes detailed logging. Whenever an email is automatically categorized according to predefined rules, it’s now recorded in a log. This improvement allows you to better track automated email actions, creating a clear history for all classified emails and increasing transparency.

Whether it’s client communications or internal updates, this feature supports oversight, helping you track automated email responses and ensuring that project teams stay informed of important exchanges.
